UAE Golden Visa Requirements Explained (2026)

A complete guide to the UAE Golden Visa — who qualifies, required documents, how to apply, fees, and processing times.

What is the UAE Golden Visa?

The UAE Golden Visa is a long-term residency visa valid for 5 or 10 years, renewable indefinitely. It offers the right to live, work and study in the UAE without needing a national sponsor, and allows holders to stay outside the UAE for extended periods without losing residency.

Golden Visa Categories — Who Qualifies?

The UAE Golden Visa was expanded in 2022 to cover significantly more categories. As of 2025, the following groups are eligible:

Investors

Public investment fund investors, or individuals with a minimum AED 2 million investment in UAE real estate (owned outright or through approved bank mortgages).

Entrepreneurs

Founders of an existing project with minimum capital of AED 500,000 and approval from a relevant UAE incubator or accelerator authority.

Specialized Talents

Professionals in fields like science, health, engineering, IT, arts, and culture — evaluated based on qualifications, work history, and endorsement from a relevant UAE authority.

Outstanding Students

High school students with 95%+ grade average, or university graduates with a minimum 3.75 GPA from top-ranked institutions inside or outside the UAE.

Humanitarian Pioneers

Individuals with recognized humanitarian contributions, awarded through relevant authorities.

Frontline Heroes

Medical professionals and others recognized for extraordinary service during crises, evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
